How to have a stable mind?

First of all, let’s begin by understanding what a stable mind is. A stable mind is one that is not easily distracted or overwhelmed by negative thoughts. To give you an example, two years ago, I was called a loser, and that thought kept replaying in my mind. It weighed on me until I decided to walk the path of spirituality and seek a deeper connection with God—but that’s a story for another day.

Let’s focus on how to achieve a stable mind. Imagine your mind is unstable—constantly restless and unsettled. Now, take a moment to put your phone down and ask yourself: What is causing this instability? Many of you might think of dopamine from excessive phone use, others may think of anger or distractions.

Fortunately, I was able to rise above these issues, and now I want to share some insights on how to avoid falling into those traps.

MEDITATION

If you think this is just another tip you’ve seen on every website, know that it’s because it’s one of the most effective ways to calm the mind—learning how to meditate. Personally, it has helped me a great deal. While I didn’t practice it every day, I often turned to meditation when I felt angry or distracted. Finding a quiet space to focus helped me regain my balance and return to the present moment. I highly recommend trying it for yourself.

LET GO OF WHAT OTHERS THINK ABOUT YOU

Another important thing to remember is that it doesn’t matter what others think of you. In the end, the only opinions that should matter are from those who truly care about you. I’ve often worried about what others would think if I didn’t perform well, but after meditating, I’d let go of those thoughts and let them say whatever they want. Ultimately, you need to remind yourself, “They don’t know me, but I’ll win and change their minds.” This mindset helps me stay in the present, and it’s closely tied to the importance of meditation.

LET GO OF PAST

This is a crucial point for anyone who constantly dwells on the past, feeling guilty about what they should or shouldn’t have done. You need to understand that the past can’t be changed, and it’s your mistakes that have shaped where you are now. The key is not to be weighed down by regret but to ensure those mistakes aren’t repeated—this is what successful, growth-oriented people do. The lesson here is to let go of the past and focus on the present. I too was caught up in the competitive world, and when I realized that things don’t always go as planned, it was tough, but I worked through it and moved on—and so can you.

And one should perform physical activities too and engage in conversation with positive people and growth oriented people who think just as same as you. If you didn’t worked on it then it’s your choice. Write journals or set routines for better understanding of what you want.
