In today’s world, both men and women are taught from childhood to follow rules. But when a child breaks a rule for a positive reason and gets punished, they are often conditioned to believe that going against the norm is wrong, even when their intentions were good. This leads to a mindset where they are no longer encouraged to think for themselves. Instead, they feel compelled to perform tasks within predefined boundaries, following criteria set by others. I am not saying break all the rules but if breaking rules is helping you in positive sense so let it be.
Throughout school, we’re taught to be disciplined and obedient, yet never taught when or why it’s necessary to break certain rules for personal growth. This conditioning often limits our ability to think beyond the conventional path—school, higher education, and then a job. It traps people in a cycle that stifles creativity and self-expression.
But today, I want to challenge that notion. I’m here to talk about the power of breaking rules—not out of rebellion, but for personal growth and to bring positive change to both your life and the world around you.
Sometimes God teaches himself that breaking rules is necessary for change.
How we can learn from those rule breaking?

BREAKING RULES TO UPHOLD RIGHTEOUSNESS
If you’re familiar with the story of the Mahabharata, then you’ve probably heard about the deaths of Bhishma and Karna, two of the most legendary warriors in the epic. If not, trust me, the story is a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with unique lessons, deep morals, and reflections on what is truly right. When it comes to Lord Krishna, he himself broke certain rules for the sake of peace in this world and to ensure their defeat. I won’t go into the details of what he did, but if you’ve read the Mahabharata, you’ll definitely understand the significance of his actions.
Lesson: Sometimes, breaking the rules is necessary to defeat those who misuse them or to correct a greater wrong. Krishna’s actions showed that rigidly adhering to rules may perpetuate injustice, while bending them can restore balance.
BREAKING SOCIAL NORMS FOR A JUST SOCIETY
Lord Krishna was known for breaking rigid caste, social norms, and class barriers. In his friendships, he never discriminated based on caste—he formed close bonds with the humble cowherds, graciously accepted food from his poor friend Sudama, and treated everyone with the same respect and kindness. His actions were revolutionary for that time, sending a powerful message that strict social rules should be questioned, especially when they stand in the way of equality and compassion.
Lesson: Social norms and rules that promote division or inequality should be challenged. Krishna’s life exemplified a more inclusive approach to humanity, breaking down barriers for the greater good of society.
JESUS HEALING ON SABBATH
According to Jewish law, no work was to be done on the Sabbath, but Jesus himself broke this rule by healing people on that day. He challenged the rigid interpretation of the law, teaching that mercy should take precedence over the law. For Jesus, compassion and kindness toward others were more important than strict adherence to rules.
Lesson: Rules are not meant to override kindness and mercy. Breaking them is justified when it serves a higher purpose, such as healing or helping others.
JESUS AND THE WOMAN AT THE WELL
In John 4:1-26, Jesus speaks to a Samaritan woman at a well, breaking several significant social norms. Jews did not typically associate with Samaritans, and men were not supposed to speak publicly with women in such a manner. Despite this, Jesus engages with the woman, offering her spiritual guidance and affirming her worth.
Breaking cultural norms: Jesus defies both gender and ethnic prejudices to bring hope and salvation to the woman.
Lesson: Jesus shows that breaking the rules of prejudice and discrimination can lead to personal transformation and healing. God’s love transcends human-made boundaries.

CONCLUSION
It doesn’t matter how a person breaks the rules when God Himself has done so for the betterment of society and the world. The focus should always be on the lessons God tries to teach us, no matter the religion. If breaking rules brings unity in society, so be it. If stepping outside the system leads to positive change in the world, so be it. The greater purpose is what truly matters.
